THE TOTEM
RULES
- A1: Object of the game is to be the first to complete your totem by having a Thunderbird, Salmon, Bear, Frog and Whale animal totem card placed in front of you face up.
- A2: Play cards in front of you so other players can see them.
- A3: Have as many Thunderbird cards as players minus 1, in the deck when you begin: For example: 3 players = 2 Thunderbirds set the others aside.
- A4: Deal out 5 cards to each player.
- A5: If you have less than 5 cards at any time you must replenish your hand. If you have more than 5 cards at the end of your turn in your hand discard until you have 5 cards again.
- A6: Once the deck runs out shuffle the discard pile and continue to play from it.
- ON YOUR TURN: Draw a card (this is the only time you will have 6 cards and then you must do any one of the following:

You may play a totem card (face up in front of you)

You may play a spirit animal card and follow its instructions
-
You may play a spirit animal card combination and follow the instructions
(You may play a card you just drew at the beginning of your turn. However, you cannot play a card you have taken from another player)
You may play rabbit cards and rabbit combos consecutively on your turn.
- Game Cards: TOTEMS: (8) Whales; (8) Salmon; (8) Bears; (8) Frogs; (5) Thunderbird
SPIRIT ANIMALS (4) each: Beaver, Coyote, Eagle, Rabbit, Skin Walker, Snake, Wendigo, Wolf

- SPIRIT ANIMAL CARD POWERS : Spirit animal powers only last one turn and then the card is discarded to the discard pile

BEAVER: Blocks the powers of another spirit animal played on you, (a beaver may block a beaver)

COYOTE: Picks 1 card from the discard pile and places it in your hand
-
EAGLE: Looks at another players’ hand and discards 1 of their cards (player being stolen from may apply A5)

RABBIT: Takes 2 more turns)

RAVEN: Becomes any other sprit animal during your turn only (NOT a Totem, not a combo).

SKIN WALKER: Switches hands with another player

SNAKE: Steals a card from another player without looking at their hand and immediately plays it if possible

WENDIGO: Draws 3 cards on your turn and reduces down to 5 before the end of your turn.

- SPIRIT ANIMAL CARD COMBOS

DOUBLE EAGLE : Forces all players to discard one card of your choice (i.e. “everyone discards all snakes”)

DOUBLE SNAKE : Looks at another person’s hand and takes as many cards as you want (those taken cards can only be played on following turns NOT this turn)

DOUBLE RABBIT: You may play as many cards as you want from your hand. Drawn Cards from the Wendigo are not playable.
-
DOUBLE RAVEN: Cancels the power of a combo. Double Raven can be played at any time ‘out of turn’ (OOT).
-
DOUBLE SKIN WALKER: Becomes a Thunderbird totem card and place it in front of you.
-
DOUBLE COYOTE: Allows player to pick 2 cards from the discard pile
-
DOUBLE WOLF: Allows player to swap all played totem cards with another player’s played totem cards
